These terms govern your use of Lenskit, operated by Helium GK in Japan. By using Lenskit, you agree to these terms. You must be legally able to accept them, or have appropriate parent or guardian authorization. If acting for an organization, you must have authority to bind it. Lenskit is not directed at children under 13.
The service
Lenskit provides browser-based optical editing, ray tracing and analysis, saved systems, personal lens libraries, imports, exports, and sharing. Available features and supported inputs may change. These terms do not promise particular results, uninterrupted access, or permanent storage.
Your account
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and use only accounts you are authorized to access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Tell support@lenskit.app promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Engineering and safety
Simulation results are models, not guarantees of physical performance, manufacturability, suitability, or safety. Independently verify designs, units, inputs, materials, component specifications, assumptions, and results before relying on them. Lenskit does not replace professional engineering judgment, physical testing, or appropriate laser and optical safety procedures. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for safety-critical decisions.
Your content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of designs and other content you submit. You must have the legal rights and permissions to create, upload, and share it. Your content and use must not infringe copyright, patents, trade secrets, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights, or violate confidentiality obligations. Do not upload or share material you are not authorized to disclose.
Permission to operate Lenskit
You grant Helium GK permission to store, process, reproduce, render, and display your content only as needed to operate Lenskit and apply your sharing choices. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content. Private systems do not grant other users permission to access or use them.
Public and unlisted systems
By making a system public or unlisted, you grant users who can access it a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to copy, modify, and use it, including commercially. Permission continues for copies already obtained if you later make the original private or delete it. You can grant only rights you hold. Sharing does not grant rights to third-party intellectual property or guarantee that a design is free of patent or other restrictions. Independent copies do not receive your later changes automatically.
Acceptable use
Do not use Lenskit unlawfully, infringe others’ rights, upload malicious content, bypass access controls, access private content without authorization, impersonate others, or disrupt the service. Do not conduct abusive automation or security testing without authorization.
Vendor and third-party information
Catalog entries and vendor information may be incomplete or outdated. Check current manufacturer specifications and applicable licenses before selecting or using components. Third-party services and materials may have their own terms; Lenskit does not grant ownership of them.
Privacy and deletion
Our Privacy Policy explains information handling. Request account or information deletion at support@lenskit.app. We may verify your identity and will process applicable requests without undue delay and within legally required deadlines. Backups, lawful retention, device storage, and independent copies are subject to the limits explained in that policy.
Availability, changes, and suspension
We may maintain, change, or discontinue features and may restrict access for violations, abuse, security needs, or legal requirements. We will give notice where reasonably practicable. Export important designs and maintain your own copies. You may stop using Lenskit at any time; termination does not revoke permissions already granted for shared copies.
Warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Lenskit is provided as is and as available, without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or noninfringement. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Helium GK is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, business interruption, or loss of data arising from use of Lenskit. These limitations do not exclude liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Governing law and disputes
Japanese law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections that apply where you live. Contact support@lenskit.app first so we can try to resolve a dispute. These terms do not require arbitration or prevent you from using courts or remedies available under applicable law.
Changes and contact
We will publish changes here with an updated effective date and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Where required, we will obtain agreement before applying changes. Questions, rights complaints, and other notices may be sent to support@lenskit.app.
